DROP OFF: Busses should use the front entrance to Mashpee High School. The front entrance is looped and may be too tight for some buses, so it is recommended that you take the first left at the stop sign and go around the back of the building, continue around by the tennis courts and unload by the front door next to the cafeteria. There will be a student ready to escort you and your students into the warmup rooms.
PERFORMANCE: All bands have a 25 minute slot. This includes set-up, performance, and exit from the stage. Three songs is the maximum with a performance time limit of 20 minutes. Bands who take longer than the allotted time may be subject to a penalty. The penalty will be a reduction of one medal rating lower than earned.
CLINIC : Each group will have a 15-20 minute clinic in a designated clinic room. The clinic room will have a keyboard, guitar & bass amps and a drumset for your use.
SECURITY: Please do not leave any items of value unattended in your warm-up room. If you are going to leave instruments in the room, please assign a couple of students to watch them.
EQUIPMENT PROVIDED BY THE FESTIVAL: Mashpee will provide a grand piano, microphones and a sound system for your use. I DO have a set of vibes (no belt). The clinician room has a keyboard, drumset and bass and guitar amps so you do not have to carry all of your equipment into that room. I will have an AV tech available to set up microphones and there will be monitors on stage.
I have a shortage of music stands , and will have enough for the stage and clinic room, but may not have for every student in the warm up rooms.
Also band directors please make sure the warmup room is left in the same condition that you found it it, these are teachers classrooms.
ADMISSION FEE: There is an admission fee for spectators. $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for children and seniors. Please let your parent know ahead of time!
FOOD: Food will be available for purchase in the cafeteria during the festival. Snacks, pizza and drinks will be available from 4:30 PM until 8:00 PM.
